My Fitness Journey

Without going back too far, I’ll just state that I have always been active. I participated in many sports but was best at (thus most enjoyed) volleyball and throwing shotput and discus in Track & Field. I guess you can say I’ve always been a little strength-oriented… but man I wish I knew then what I know now about fitness!

Over the past 10 years I have learned a ton about strength training, cardio-respiratory health, plyometrics, etc etc… all leading to me becoming a personal trainer. Of course the learning isn’t over. Anyway. This is meant to be a gallery of progress.

2010-2013 Progress

3yrs of a good routine! 2010-2013 Changes

My body has changed in ebbs and flows of my commitment, as I have learned more, and as I have had life obstacles (like the passing of my father) that have caused me to step back from the gym for even just a month or two. Oh, and pregnancy… that has certainly changed my body.

2014 Start of Pregnancy

Start of this pregnancy- Aug 2014

I miscarried twice but am now 7mos pregnant with our little boy, Alanzo, who is healthy and growing! I still work out 5 times a week doing cardio and strength training, teach a seniors fitness class twice a week, and train clients on their fitness journey.

I look forward to allowing my body to continue to nurture and feed Alanzo after his birth and to continue my own fitness journey through life! I have a goal to compete in a fitness competition before I turn 30 (which means before December 2016)… so stay tuned!

  1. I’m so happy about this blog Especially since you have joined motherhood. I need tips on how to have time and energy to get my body back. Having two kids makes it so hard. I’m loving it all ready and can’t wait to see what’s next.
