This edition of the Feisty Fox Fitness Client Spotlight is on Amanda Cloes! This young lady has had ups and downs in her fitness journey (that she talks a bit about below), but has lost over 80lbs in the past 18months and is dedicated to doing things the strong and healthy way! She says she heard about what I do with Feisty Fox Fitness and decided she wanted to work with me for sure after she saw me compete at the Ronnie Coleman Classic. I think we have a future figure competitor on our hands! This girl works hard and is virtually unstoppable. Stay tuned for more on Amanda, but first, some Q&A:
I am a Bakery Manager at Costco
How long have you been training with Feisty Fox Fitness?
I have been training with Feisty Fox for 3 months and 1 week!
How did you first get interested in fitness?
I have always been athletic growing up but then after college, I let myself go. I finally got sick and tired of not liking what I saw in the mirror and felt uncomfortable in my own skin. I had tried nutrisystem and lost about 35 pounds but when I stopped getting their food I gained it all back and then some. I didn’t have the tools or knowledge or want, I guess, to make the proper food choices. So years later I decided to do it the good old fashioned way, exercise and eat REAL wholesome food that you make yourself. (She has now lost over 80lbs and is focused primarily on muscle gain, by the way!!!)
How do you find the time to be consistent with your training and nutrition?
I just have to make the time for nutrition and training. I know what I want and the only way it’s going to happen is if I do the work. I may not feel like it at times but I just ask myself if skipping this workout or not meal prepping will get me closer to my overall goal. The answer is NO!!
What is your proudest accomplishment thus far, in terms of health and fitness?
My proudest moment thus far is being able to do an unassisted chinup. Never been able to do one in my life and I fully can!! Pull ups beware!! Coming for you next!
I like having people/friends that I can ask for ideas on eating and just have casual conversations with. I guess I like the camaraderie and being a part of something that stands for something good in life!
What are your most and least favorite exercises so far?
I love anything that shows muscle gains. I like being able to look in the mirror when doing an exercise and see my muscles flexing!! It encourages and pushes me to keep going. My least favorite exercise is Bulgarian split squats! I know they ate good for me but dang do they burn!!!
What is your best piece of health or fitness advice?
I believe you need to do things for yourself, not to impress others or because others say to. Live your life for you and the way you want to live and don’t let anyone tear you down. You can do anything you set your mind to and will accomplish great things if you are willing to do the work!
